Bobi is not allowed to attend the inauguration of the Zambian president, Museveni.

The serving administration of the NRM has thwarted the efforts of the National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to attend the inauguration ceremony of Zambia’s new president.

According to reliable sources, the decision to prevent Bobi from flying to Zambia was based on a “executive order” from Uganda’s President, Gen. Yoweri Museveni, who warned that having an opposition figure represent Uganda in Lusaka instead of a government official or a diplomat would give the country a bad international image.

In a ceremony in Lusaka on Tuesday afternoon, Hakainde Hichilema, the newly elected President of Zambia, was sworn in to take over from outgoing President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

Despite saying that he would attend the ceremony, the former presidential candidate, who has always referred to Hichilema as a close comrade, did not show up.

Despite having received his invitation, Bobi Wine states in a Twitter post that his attempts to attend the event were futile. Kyagulanyi, on the other hand, remained tight-lipped about who or what thwarted his attempts, promising to elaborate in the days ahead.

According to inside sources, Kyagulanyi was given a travel ban from above in order to prevent him from attending the Lusaka ceremony.

He did, however, commend the Zambian people for “paving the road” and stated that it is now the generation’s responsibility to guarantee that peaceful transitions become the norm in Africa.

The previous President of Zambia, H.E Edgar Lungu, was also thanked by the NUP leader for the character he displayed in humbly accepting the results of the elections.
