What is the purpose of life?
All Christians should look up to Jesus Christ as an example.
Have you ever wondered about it? (We may not think about this as much as we should as young people.) At the very least, I can attest to that from personal experience!) The inquiry, on the other hand, is significant, as is the answer.
Let’s have a look at what the Bible says.
What does being a Christian entail? A Christian, according to Webster’s Dictionary, is “a true disciple of Christ” or “a believer in Christ’s religion.”
What or who is the Christian’s role model? Without a doubt! It is the Lord Jesus Christ. All Christians should look up to Jesus Christ as an example.
In John 20:21, Jesus says something significant.
“Peace be unto you,” Jesus said again, “because as my Father has sent me, so send I you.” – Matthew 20:21
He sends us in the same way that Jesus was sent into this world. As a result, Christians should live for the same reasons Jesus did. Every Christian’s purpose should be the same as Jesus’. How can we call ourselves Christians if we don’t follow the example of the one we claim to follow?
The question of why Jesus lived remains unanswered. What was the driving force for His existence?
Jesus expresses himself:
“For I came down from heaven to execute the will of him who sent me, not my own.” 6:38 – John
What was the purpose of Jesus’ descent from heaven to earth? To simply do anything He pleased? No! He came to carry out God’s desire. That was His mission, His goal. And what was His Father’s will?
“And this is the will of him who sent me, that everyone who seeth the Son and believes in him may have eternal life” – John 6:40
Can you fathom God’s anguish and alienation as a result of sin? His most precious creation taken from Him by the deception of a fallen angel and Adam and Eve’s choice! Because of sin, the link of love that existed between God and man was severed. Can’t we understand that God’s greatest desire, His Father’s great will, is to be reunited with His children? God’s will is to save people!
Jesus did not come to fulfill His own desires. Nothing he did was motivated by self-interest. Jesus came to accomplish nothing but His Heavenly Father’s will. Are we believers in Jesus Christ? We are not truly Christians unless we follow Christ’s example and make the aim of his life our own.
“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” 20:28 (Matthew)
No, Jesus did not come to be praised, flattered, honored, or exalted by men. What is one term that encapsulates the cause for Jesus’ arrival?
GIVING! It was the Son of Man’s mission to offer! Not for the sake of gaining. No, Jesus sacrificed everything He had until, at the end, He surrendered His every breath to die for us!
So, why are you alive, dear reader?
