For the Venoms, it was just a matter of time before they were crowned champions of this year’s championship, which they had already won two weeks prior.

The FUFA President, Moses Magogo, and the FUFA third Vice President, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, presided over the ceremony. Among the dignitaries in attendance was Lawrence Mulindwa, chairman of Vipers.

Milton Karisa and Bobos Byaruhanga each scored a brace, while Yunus Sentamu also found the back of the net for the Vipers in their 3-0 win.

After Tonny Mawejje, a former Uganda Cranes midfielder, was honored in the sixth minute for his commitment to football, a standing ovation was heard.

Vipers SC are still in the running for a hat trick because they meet Bidco FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final. Vipers SC won the Uganda Premier League four times in a row from 2010 to 2020, all with victories.
