Uganda team to World Athletics U-20 Champs takes off today

Uganda will be represented by a 10-member team at the World Athletics Under 20 Championships, which will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from August 17 to 22, 2021.

The squad will fly off on Sunday on Uganda Airlines to Nairobi, according to Namayo Mawerere, the Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) media secretary.

Prisca Chesang, an Olympian who finished 15th in heat one of the 5000m race at the recent Tokyo Olympics, will lead the team.

According to Mawerere, the team has been preparing for the championship in Kapchorwa for almost a month. He believes they have had enough training to compete against the top youth athletes in the world. Ugandan team
