Uganda now has no confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The Ministry of Health has announced that there are currently no active instances of Covid-19 in any of the country’s health facilities.

In a Covid-19 update released on Monday, the ministry stated that on April 9, 2022, the country confirmed only three mild instances of Covid-19.

After doing 2,677 additional Covid-19 tests, the cases were identified.

The incidents involved two notifications from Kampala and Adjumani, according to the ministry. A truck driver from Amuru was the source of the other case.

Since the epidemic began in 2020, the country has recognized a total of 163,996 cases.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, 100,200 patients have recovered during the outbreak, while 3,596 persons have died from the Coronavirus.

As of April 9, 2022, the number of active admitted cases in health facilities was reported to be nil.

This is the first time since the pandemic was officially revealed in March 2020 that the country has had no confirmed cases of Covid-19.

According to the Ministry of Health’s website, a total of 19,095,668 persons have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
