According to Farhan Haq, the UN Secretary-deputy General’s spokesman, Antonio Guterres has consistently emphasized the significance of maintaining the status quo in the holy sites “in keeping with the specific role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”

He continued by urging everyone to refrain from actions that can inflame the situation near the holy sites.
