“The wait is finally over! The Airbuses, Uganda Airlines’ large cranes, have been added to our Air Operators Certificate (AOC), and will soon be ready to fly long haul. Uganda Airlines tweeted, “Welcome to a new world of increased connection.”

The news comes just a week after the Airbus 330 neo successfully concluded a six-month certification procedure by flying a demonstration flight to Johannesburg, South Africa.

Uganda Airlines operates two Airbus A330 neos and four CRJ 900 series aircraft. The latter were purchased from Airbus in December 2020 and February 2021, respectively.

The national carrier plans to expand its international network with flights from Entebbe International Airport (the hub) to Dubai, London, Mumbai, and Guangzhou after the certification process for the two uncommon wide jets is completed.
