Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), Uganda’s official broadcaster, has obtained broadcast rights for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Qatar will host the competition from November 20 to December 18, 2022.

“The Free-To-Air (FTA) Rights are GRATIS and EXCLUSIVE to UBC. This means that all games will be broadcast on UBC, Star TV, and 11 radio stations around the country, according to a statement released by the organization on Friday.

“As a nation that loves football, Uganda’s government has always backed the Public Broadcaster to ensure that its inhabitants are a part of the global community in sports, entertainment, trade, and science and innovation. Let’s enjoy the games as part of our holiday celebrations and use them to expand our business through sponsorship, advertising, and promotion.”

Due to Qatar’s high summer heat, the 2022 FIFA World Cup was postponed from the customary World Cup Finals schedule in June to November-December.

According to FIFA, the audience for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is expected to increase to 5 billion from 3.8 billion in 2018.

The FIFA World Cup is held every four years, providing fantastic opportunity for product merchandising, promotion, and advertising, as well as great opportunities for football enthusiasts around the world.
