Three people hacked to death in Masaka

Unknown assailants stormed Ssetaala village in Kimaanya-Kabonera division, Masaka city, late night, killing three persons. Another person was severely injured but survived the incident.

The deceased have been named as Sulaiman Kakooza, 56, Kizza Luswa, 50, and Dan Kiyimba, 38, according to Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson Muhammad Nsubuga. He goes on to say that the survivor, Ronald Ssebyoto, 25, is presently being treated at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital.

He goes on to say that the unidentified killers primarily utilize pangas and other blunt weapons to kill their victims. He stated that their purpose has yet to be determined because they do not seize the property of their victims.

The chairman of the Ssetaala LCI, Mgid Vincent Ssewanja, has urged to the police to find the killers in order to spare other people’s lives. Masaka Regional Authorities Commander Paul Kole also urged citizens to maintain calm as the police investigate the deaths.
