The former Chelsea manager, who has been jobless since last summer, has spent the previous six months learning Spanish in preparation for a potential move to Real Madrid.

Thomas Tuchel has been learning Spanish over the past few months to improve his prospects of getting the Real Madrid job. According to reports, Tuchel was a contender to succeed Antonio Conte at Tottenham, but the German manager has said he is not interested in the position.

Chelsea fired Tuchel in September 2021, and he hasn’t had a job since. Following the firing of Steven Gerrard in October, he was contacted by Aston Villa but declined the offer; Unai Emery was ultimately chosen instead. Also, Bayer Leverkusen made a proposal for Tuchel, but they chose to go with Xabi Alonso. Tuchel is still a highly sought-after head coach in European football despite this.

Thomas Tuchel has reportedly been studying Spanish for the past six months, which signals that he is considering applying for the Real Madrid position, according to a report in Bild. After Tite left the Brazil national team following the World Cup, Carlo Ancelotti has been mentioned as a potential candidate to fill the position. Tuchel might be a candidate for the post if Ancelotti quits Real Madrid. Mauricio Pochettino, whose return to Tottenham has also been discussed, may possibly be a candidate for the Real Madrid coaching position.

Prior to being fired six months later, Pochettino oversaw Tottenham for five and a half years, guiding them to the 2019 Champions League final. After a year and a half at Paris Saint-Germain, he was fired at the conclusion of the previous campaign.
