The USGA’s proposed driver length limit has enraged Phil Mickelson.
Mickelson, who is said to use a 47.5-inch driver, replied to a number of remarks on his first tweet.
On Friday, Phil Mickelson slammed the United States Golf Association’s decision to limit driver length to 46 inches.
Mickelson stated on Twitter, “Word is USGA is shortly bringing back driver length to 46 inches.” “This is a PATHETIC situation. First, it encourages a shorter, more violent swing (which is more injury prone), does not allow for a long arc to generate speed, and our amateur governing body keeps trying to make golf less enjoyable during our first golf boom in 40 years.”
Mickelson, who is said to use a 47.5-inch driver, replied to a number of remarks on his first tweet. “Logic isn’t their strong suit,” he remarked, referring to the governing golf body as “amateurs.”
After winning the PGA Event in May, shortly before his 51st birthday, he became the oldest golfer to win a major championship. In three distinct decades, he has won major tournaments.
