The Ugandan Dancers Association (DAU) has denied receiving funds from Gen. Saleh.
DAU has never traveled to Gulu or received money from Gen. Salim Saleh on behalf of the dancers, according to Josh
The Uganda Dancers Association has refuted allegations that members of its organization accepted money from Gen. Salim Saleh while in Gulu.
Several tiny associations comprised of various stakeholders have established within the entertainment business since the beginning of the year.
In an attempt to unite the business, musicians, producers, songwriters, celebrities, promoters, bloggers, and others have created groups.
Some of these organizations, on the other hand, were formed solely to seek government funding in light of the industry’s financial difficulties when Covid-19 struck in March 2020.
Numerous were labeled “beggers” in the aftermath of the Gulu retreat, where many members of various associations traveled to Northern Uganda to see OWC boss Gen Salim Saleh.
Some of these artists defended themselves by saying that their excursions to Gulu were aimed at finding long-term solutions for the business.
The Ugandan Dancers Association was recently accused of traveling to Gulu and taking money from Gen. Saleh. They refute the allegations.
Josh Trojans, a spokesman of the group, dismissed the charges on social media, calling them “untrue and absolutely false.”
DAU has never traveled to Gulu or received money from Gen. Salim Saleh on behalf of the dancers, according to Josh.
He further mentioned how such charges are destroying the business by causing unnecessary stress and friction among dancers.
ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION
The Dancers Association of Uganda (DAU) has taken notice of recent social media posts and media interviews in which significant charges regarding the Association have been made.
The claims that DAU or its representatives traveled to Gulu to see Gen Salim Saleh and accepted money on behalf of dancers are false and unsubstantiated. DAU has never gone on a trip like this, and it has never received any funding from Gen Saleh or anybody else.
DAU has been in the works since June 2020, and it is not a breakaway faction of any previously formed organization.
These false reports detract from the DAU’s efforts to organize and connect dancers around the country. These charges are merely adding to the tension and friction among the dancers, and they should be regarded with the utmost contempt.
DAU is dedicated to working with all dancers and should not be splintered by unneeded media battles. We continue to encourage all dancers to join the Association so that we can speak with one voice and achieve all of our goals.
