Manchester United are concerned about Marcus Rashford’s fitness after the England international limped out of Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Everton.

Manchester United are currently concerned about Marcus Rashford. The England international was forced to leave Saturday’s 2-0 win over Everton due to what appeared to be a groin injury. However, with Anthony Martial now fully fit and firing, the France international is ready to step up in his teammate’s expected absence.

Manchester United dominated Everton on Saturday, with goals from Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial giving them a crucial three points.

But Rashford’s afternoon was ruined when he trudged down the tunnel with an injury in the 81st minute.

This is not what United requires. This season, their No. 10 has scored 28 goals in all competitions, which is more than any other player at the club.

There are fears at Old Trafford that Rashford will be out for several weeks, which would be a devastating blow given their treble hopes.

But, with Martial back in action, the Red Devils already have a suitable replacement on their books.

The France international has long been a source of contention. Some think he’s world-class, while others think he’s infuriatingly inconsistent.

The 27-year-old has had a difficult year, missing more matches than he has played in due to injuries.

When he has been able to play, however, Martial has not let United down this season.

Since joining the club from Monaco in 2015, the forward has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 7999 minutes of action.

That means Martial scores or assists once every 88 minutes.

That is why, if United is forced to cope without Rashford for the foreseeable future, they can rely on their No. 9 to deliver.

Martial leading United to a treble would also have a positive impact on the upcoming summer transfer window.

Tottenham and Napoli strikers Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are both on the Red Devils’ radar.

However, Martial finishing the season in fine form would throw a spanner in the works, possibly prompting United to reconsider.

For the past eight years, the forward has been hot and cold under previous managers such as Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, it is hoped that under Ten Hag, he will be able to achieve the consistency that many believe he is capable of.

Meanwhile, Rashford’s manager, Louis van Gaal, admitted that things ‘didn’t look good’ after the win over Everton.

“We have to wait [on Rashford’s injury], it doesn’t look good,” stated the 53-year-old.

“Once again it’s down to the schedule, you can’t play three games in six days. Everyone wants to see big players on the pitch.

“ He played against Fulham, he played against Betis, he’s playing for England so he’s fit, he’s ready to play and the thinking is we have the most crazy schedule from all the Premier League teams.

“We have three games to cover in six days – which is not right, but we have to deal with it.”

On Thursday, Manchester United will face Sevilla (8pm).

This season, the Red Devils have already defeated Real Betis, Real Sociedad, and Barcelona in the Europa League.
