The sale of cards proving Covid-19 vaccination has been condemned by Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi.
He claimed that the move put “all people’s health and life in jeopardy.”
President Nyusi encouraged citizens to be cautious.
“We’d want to call attention to the regrettable situation of buying and selling immunization cards once more. This type of behavior can only be described as a crime. In a nationwide address, he remarked, “It’s more than a forgery.”
More than 650,000 people have been vaccinated in Mozambique, with over 1.9 million doses provided.
As the number of coronavirus cases in the country rises, the health ministry has launched public awareness campaigns pushing people to be vaccinated.
