The KCCA has once again postponed the inauguration of the Old Taxi Park!

Bazzup has learned that the Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) has postponed the reopening of Old Taxi Park due to unforeseen circumstances.

Bazzup has learned that the Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) has postponed the reopening of Old Taxi Park due to unforeseen circumstances.

“The KCCA wishes to advise the general public and other key stakeholders that the Old Taxi Park will not reopen tomorrow (today) October 20, 2021 as previously scheduled,” the body stated in a statement obtained by Bazzup

The KCCA decided last month to launch the park on October 20, 2021. After rebuilding administration offices, fencing the park, demarcating stages, and painting the kerbs, the authorities aimed to open the park.

However, the authority has yet to fence the park, renovate the administration offices, or demarcate stages, although stating that it is still working with the taxi leadership to form the park’s management structure.

The park’s renovation began in May 2020 and was expected to be completed in three months.

The park was scheduled to reopen in August of 2020.

Heavy rains and transportation difficulties, according to the authority, slowed their delivery time.

The drainage system, carpet, and lighting in the park have all been completed by the KCCA.

According to the announcement, the new opening date will be announced later.
