The herbal remedy Kazire Vidicine is recommended as a treatment for Covid-19 symptoms.
Dr. Edward Kazire, a Pharmacognosy and Natural Medicine Scientist, claims that Vidicine is a supplemental treatment for COVID-19 symptoms rather than a cure.
Kazire Vidicine, a native herbal medication, has been approved by the National Drug Authority as a complementary treatment for COVID-19 indications and symptoms. Vidicine is a relief for cough, sore throat, and flu, according to the NDA, which are some of the symptoms associated with COVID-19.
The notification was obtained based on an initial evaluation, published literature, and safety studies, according to NDA spokesperson Abiaz Rwamiri. According to Rwamiri, the medicine is made from herbal plants that have long been used to treat the symptoms of a variety of ailments, primarily respiratory infections.
However, Rwamiri states that the NDA has encouraged the company to do clinical trials, which are the greatest degree of proof for ascertaining any claims of treatment, in order to further prove the efficacy of the medicine for various uses.
Dr. Edward Kazire, a Pharmacognosy and Natural Medicine Scientist, claims that Vidicine is a supplemental treatment for COVID-19 symptoms rather than a cure. He claims it works better with the Ministry of Health’s home-based care treatment.
The most difficult issue caused by the coronavirus, according to Kazire, is managing its effects on the body by incapacitating organs such as the lungs, kidneys, and heart because the sickness produces organ inflammation. According to him, the herbal cure aids in the treatment of inflammation and maintains the body’s oxygen levels.
Prof Celestino Obua, Vice-Chancellor of Mbarara University of Science and Technology, said the program was launched and developed with the help of university laboratories. Following Covidex’s notification in June, Vidicine is the second herbal drug to be notified and approved by the National Drug Authority to treat COVID-19.
