The end-of-semester one examinations for the academic year 2020/21 at Makerere University Business School (MUBs) will be held from Monday, September 27 to Friday, October 8, 2021.
MUB’s deputy principal, Prof. Moses Muhwezi, stated in a letter dated September 13, 2021 that the exams will be in the form of alternate online evaluations because students were unable to complete their curriculum.
“As you are aware, examinations for the end of semester one of the academic year 2020/21 were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Prof. Muhwezi said. “Since then, the Makerere University Senate meeting on August 9, 2021, and MUBS Management have approved alternative online assessment methods for both course work and final examinations,” he added.
Prof. Muhwezi stated that beginning this week, students will be educated on how to use the MUBS e-learning platform, which will be used in the online assessment.
MUBs have now joined their Makerere University counterparts as some of the fee higher education institutions that have re-opened online to finish a semester that was terminated prematurely.
Due of the Covid-19 epidemic, schools across the country have been closed since June 18, 2021, with no indication of when they will reopen.
In a letter sent on Monday, Education Minister Janet Museveni stated that the schools’ closures are aimed to protect the country’s population, not to punish students.
The minister advised students and instructors over the age of 18 to be vaccinated as they waited for God to ‘not fail’ the country’s educational system.
