A jet that was making its way from Dar es Salaam to Tanzania’s Bukoba airport, Kagera, crashed into Lake Victoria.
According to local media accounts, the aircraft is owned by Precision Air, a Tanzanian airline with its headquarters in Dar es Salaam’s Julius Nyerere International Airport.
The airline runs regular passenger flights to Entebbe and Nairobi as well as other airports and airstrips all around Tanzania.
On Sunday, the Swahili Times reported that efforts were being made to save those on board the Precision Airplane.
Recovering survivors
The report claims that the plane attempted to land at Bukoba Airport but was forced to land in Lake Victoria due to a storm.
“According to reports from the Kagera region, it is raining and foggy. According to Swahili Times, the rescue effort is still ongoing.
The plane took off from Dar es Salaam and flew via Mwanza to Bukoba.
