Steven Gerrard criticizes VAR after Danny Ings’ equaliser for Villa was ruled out after an almost FOUR-MINUTE.

STEVEN GERRARD slammed VAR after his Aston Villa team was denied an equalizer at Manchester United following an interminable review.
After a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Monday, the Midlands team was knocked out of the FA Cup.
If Danny Ings’ second-half strike had been allowed to stand, the night could have turned out differently.
Following a Villa corner that United failed to clear, the forward bundled home at the near post.
VAR, on the other hand, stepped in right away and halted the match for a few minutes while they investigated various incidences.
One was a suspected Ings handball, while the other was a possible foul.
Despite a thorough examination, VAR recommended that referee Michael Oliver examine the touchline monitor.
After spending additional time watching the goal, Oliver and VAR came to the conclusion that Ramsey was offside prior to his block on Cavani.
Villa fans were enraged by the decision, which came after a three-minute and 45-second delay.
Gerrard had no complaints to the ruling, but he was irritated by the length of time it took because Villa’s momentum had been lost.
“We were fighting for an equaliser, we had the momentum and were in a strong position at the time – and those three and a half minutes took a lot of the sting out of the game,” Gerrard added.
“According to the linesman, it had something to do with Jacob hindering Cavani’s run. I’ve heard a lot of things, but the biggest disappointment was that it took three and a half minutes to iron it out.”
Gerrard admits to being in the dark, just like the befuddled spectators in the Old Trafford stadium – where there are no TV screens – and millions watching on TV.
“I don’t think anyone in the stadium knew,” he remarked. But now that I understand why, I don’t believe it was that difficult to clear things up in three and a half minutes.
“It is what it is,” says the narrator. When the VAR arrives and makes a decision, you must accept it. Nothing exists.

Rangnick, who was without Cristiano Ronaldo due to a hip injury, was satisfied with his team’s response to their setback against Wolves, despite Villa’s superiority for lengthy stretches.
“We showed a reaction after the Wolves game, which is exactly what everyone expected from us,” he remarked. Nobody would believe that this was a perfect game if I told them it wasn’t.
“There are certainly a few areas we can improve on, but a clean sheet was critical today, and we worked together.” There are still a lot of things to work on, but with a 1-0 win, it’s a lot simpler.”
The Old Trafford crowd greeted former Liverpool captain Gerrard with enthusiasm.
“It was a good cup tie, a wonderful atmosphere, but it was water off a duck’s back in terms of what I got.”
On Tuesday, Gerrard will greet new signing Philippe Coutinho at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training ground.
And he believes that if his former Liverpool teammate passes his physical this week, he might make his Premier League debut against United on Saturday.
