Stella Nyanzi, a human rights activist and researcher, has organized peaceful rallies in Masaka against the rising number of murder cases.
Nyanzi expressed her outrage at the rising number of murder cases in Masaka, as well as the government’s “inadequate” attempts to save the people who are currently living in dread.
Nyanzi also invited other Ugandans to join her in protesting peacefully, claiming that it is a fundamental right.
“As a Masaka district woman, I have begun organizing a nonviolent demonstration against Uganda’s endless deaths of defenseless innocent residents. “Who wants to join me?” Nyanzi remarked.
Nyanzi coined the phrase “Masaka Lives Matter” to describe her rallies.

The killers have typically targeted older adults between the ages of 50 and 80.
The killers’ objectives are unknown because they kill and then vanish without taking anything.
General David Muhoozi, the Minister of Internal Affairs, said over the weekend that he will visit the area on Monday to assess the situation.
