“They’ll beat you up for criticizing Muhoozi’s presidential ambitions,” says Pastor Bugingo.

Aloysius Bugingo, a controversial city pastor, has cautioned young people not to question Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s presidential ambitions if the Commander of Land Forces decides to run in the next presidential elections.

Bugingo issued the warning while speaking to a congregation at House of Prayer Ministries International on Sunday (HPMI).

“I’m saying all of this because of a long-standing precedent that has spread among’many Ugandans.'” So, if you’re a young person attending this ceremony, don’t get caned for no reason when Muhoozi runs for president,” Bugingo advised.

Bugingo, who is also the senior pastor at HPMI, told the crowd that Uganda has seen numerous politicians replace them in the past.

As a result, he believes it will come as no surprise if Muhoozi succeeds his father, President Yoweri Museveni, in 2026.

Bugingo insisted that Ugandans have no choice but to accept the ‘Muhoozi succession talk,’ and urged the youth not to challenge it.

He also advised young people to vote for the candidates of their choice in the next presidential elections and warned them against questioning those with whom they disagree.

“Start questioning people for supporting their favourite candidates if you want to be caned.” “You’ll remember my advise when you’re beaten,” Bugingo stated.

“I’m a pastor, but this doesn’t require much prophecy,” he continued. According to precedent, Muhoozi will run for president at any time, and if he does, you should mind your own business.”

Several political observers have stated in recent years that Muhoozi, the first son, is on track to succeed his father Museveni. This has sparked a lot of discussion and debate.

The two, on the other hand, have publicly rebuffed succession discussion in the past.
