Dr. Larry will be the keynote speaker at a conference being held at the Hotel Africana in Kampala on Monday, January 10th, 2022.

Oxytocin and the Healing Power of Mutual Love will be the theme of the conference, which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All married couples are welcome to attend, and lunch and breakfast will be served.

Oxytocin is a neuropeptide and peptide hormone that is synthesized in the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary gland. It helps with social bonding, reproduction, labor, and the postpartum period.

Dr. Larry J. Young, PhD is the Director of Emory University’s Center for Translational Social Neuroscience and the Silvio O. Conte Center for Oxytocin and Social Cognition.

He is also a professor in Emory’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the director of the Yerkes National Primate Research Center’s Division of Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychiatric Disorders.

Dr. Young’s work has appeared in over 180 peer-reviewed journals, including Science, Nature, Nature Neuroscience, Nature Genetics, PNAS, and Nature Reviews Drug Discovery.

He is the International Society for Social Neuroscience’s Past-President.
