SACK RACE: Manchester United and Tottenham managers could be sacked today

Solskjaer facing Man Utd axe if he loses at Tottenham today… but Nuno could get same fate with ‘El Sackico’ defeat

It’s not every day that both sets of fans get to sing “sacked in the morning” at the opposing manager.

But that will be the case when the Manchester United circus arrives in North London tomorrow at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the betting favorite to be the next Premier League manager to be fired, Nuno Espirito Santo isn’t far behind.

And a bad beating for one of them could be deadly to their chances of surviving.

Since rampaging Liverpool cleaned the floor with his squad at Old Trafford last Sunday, Solskjaer has been under constant pressure.

The kind Norwegian guy is still clutching to the United steering wheel, but he knows his days are short if he makes another mistake tomorrow evening.

So it’ll be a good thing he’ll be facing a Spurs team that appears to have even less faith in their boss.

It’s not simple to succeed Jose Mourinho when he has taken the vitality out of a club, as both Solskjaer and Nuno have discovered.

At the very least, Ole was able to offer United fans optimism that the good times were returning before revealing that they were not.

Nuno hasn’t even managed to improve the attitude of a group that was underwhelmed by his arrival four months ago.

Daniel Levy’s wish list didn’t include the former Wolves coach, and he looks to have stumbled into the post practically by accident.

However, nine goals in nine League games has failed to pique the interest of a team whose motto is “To Dare Is To Do.”

Nonetheless, United’s kamikaze defense’s arrival gives them a chance to drastically improve their goal differential in this race for sixth place.

In their last 21 games, United has only kept one clean sheet and has conceded 11 goals in their last three.

They will travel to Spurs without Paul Pogba, who is suspended, but with an overabundance of players who have no desire to defend.

For this is a team that is more top-heavy than Katie Price’s, with a plethora of attacking superstars but no one at the back to close the door.

Both of these clubs had the audacity to sign up for a European Super League barely six months ago.

However, neither of them appears to be great at the moment.
