Royal Challengers Bangalore signs Singaporean cricketer Tim David among 3 new recruits
Royal Challengers Bangalore will be without Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn for the duration of the IPL 2021 season, as Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, and Tim David have been signed.
Royal Challengers Bangalore is still in the hunt for its maiden Indian Premier League title. While it prepares for IPL 2021 resumption in the United Arab Emirates, it has been dealt with a setback as it would be without the services of a couple of its overseas players, Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn owing to New Zealand’s international commitment.
As a result, RCB has now roped in three replacements, in the form of the Sri Lankan duo, Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera. Meanwhile, the third signing happens to be Singaporean batsman Tim David, who becomes the first cricketer from Singapore to feature in the IPL.
David has had a decent Twenty20 International career for Singapore, scoring 558 runs in 14 matches at a brilliant average of 46.5, including four half-centuries. As for T20s, he has scored 1,171 in 48 at 36.59, including six 50s.

Besides being a batsman, he is also a part-time off-spinner. While it would be his maiden IPL stint, he has had experiences in foreign T20 leagues, including Big Bash League and Pakistan Super League.
In another significant development, Mike Hesson would remain the franchise’s head coach until the season-end and is expected to step down post that. He was roped in for the role in 2019 and helped the side finish fourth in IPL 2020.
