Romelu Lukaku is facing disciplinary punishment following an inflammatory interview in which he said he was unhappy at Chelsea and never intended to leave Milan.

Chelsea is considering disciplinary action against Romelu Lukaku after he admitted he never wanted to leave Inter Milan.

Thomas Tuchel, the Blues’ manager, has threatened to read the riot book to his £97.5 million striker if he claims he is unhappy at the club.

The second portion of Lukaku’s interview with Sky Italia, which suggested he was pushed towards Stamford Bridge in the summer, will not have eased the German’s attitude.

“If Inter had offered me a new contract last summer, as I desired, we would not be doing this interview now from London, but quietly from Milan,” Lukaku, 28, stated.

“I would have stayed at Inter 100 percent last summer if that had been the case.” There’s no reason to argue about it.

“I’m always thinking of Milano, Milano, Milano,” says the narrator. Inter’s supporters are among the greatest in the world. I adore the city, and Inter was the pinnacle of my professional career.

“I like Italy, and Inter has a special place in my heart.”

Lukaku adds gasoline to the flames when asked about the possibility of reuniting with his old Inter attack partner Lautaro Martinez.

“I miss Lautaro Martinez,” he said, “and I’ve wanted to die on the pitch for him since the first time I met him.”

“Will Lautaro Martinez join me at Chelsea in the future?” No, Lautaro, you’re welcome to stay in Milan; I’ll be back…”

Lukaku is attempting to pacify Inter fans after leaving the club in the summer after helping them win Serie A.

At Chelsea, though, it has had the exact opposite effect.

Tuchel ruled out selling the striker back to Inter, but when asked whether disciplinary action and talks were likely, he replied, “We will.”

“We’ll do it behind closed doors and openly, as I believe the relationship is and has always been, so no more public statements on it.”

“I don’t like it because it creates unnecessary noise that isn’t helpful.” If there is anything, it is most likely hidden behind closed doors.

“You know how easy it is to take lines out of context, how easy it is to truncate paragraphs, create headlines, and then realize later that it isn’t so horrible and maybe not what he meant.”

“But, let’s be honest, we don’t like it, and I don’t like it either, because it’s unnecessary noise.” It hinders our ability to focus and maintain a peaceful environment.

“I don’t think he’s unhappy.” I’m the polar opposite. I would have said the exact opposite if you had asked me yesterday morning, which is why it comes as a surprise.

“It is not necessary for the dressing room to remain in constant harmony. It is not required to be successful in order to be successful. We are not obligated to love each other.

“It’s sometimes wonderful to be on the edge, to be a little discordant when you’re between two points.

“The trouble with Romelu is that I don’t think anyone in this building knows he’s unhappy, which is why we’re astonished by this remark because I don’t understand why it should be like way.”
