Rodriguez out of Colombia squad for Copa America

Everton's James Rodriguez has been cut from the Colombia crew because of injury and will miss the Copa America and two World Cup qualifiers in June, the Colombian Football Federation said on Friday.

“In the previous days, the midfielder went through clinical tests that established that he isn’t at the ideal degree of rivalry thus he won’t join mentor Reinaldo Rueda’s crew,” an assertion said.

The assertion didn’t indicate what the issue was, yet the Everton player has missed a few games this season with a calf injury.

Colombia face Qatar 2022 qualifiers away in Peru on 3 June and at home to Argentina five days after the fact.

The Copa America at that point starts off on 13 June.

Colombia were intended to co-have the competition with Argentina yet thoughtful turmoil there incited the South American Football Confederation to eliminate them as joint hosts.

No choice has been taken on where to play the 15 games that were planned for Colombia.
