Real Madrid are planning a transfer for Cristiano Ronaldo, with the club believing that a move for Ralf Rangnick could force him out of Manchester United.
According to rumours, Real Madrid is interested in bringing Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo back to the Bernabeu.
During his nine-year stint with Real, Ronaldo scored 450 goals in 438 games.
Real could attempt to lure the 36-year-old back to Madrid just three years after he left for Juventus, according to FootballInsider.
According to the report, Ralf Rangnick’s appointment at United has raised the possibility of a winter return to Spain.
There are doubts about Ronaldo’s suitability for Rangnick’s high-octane pressing game.
In Rangnick’s first game in charge, though, Ronaldo and United’s running figures show differently.
At Old Trafford, the Red Devils defeated Crystal Palace 1-0, with midfielder Fred capping off a dominant display with a lovely strike from the edge of the penalty box.
Ronaldo was paired with Marcus Rashford in Rangnick’s set-up, and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s performance shown that he is ready to battle and press.
Rangnick singled out Ronaldo for praise after the game, saying, “We intended to play with two forwards, especially in the middle position.”
“By the way, kudos to Cristiano Ronaldo’s off-the-ball work.”
Rangnick, according to club great Rio Ferdinand, will attempt to change his tactics if necessary to work around Superstar Ronaldo.
“He’ll be altering his methods to fit a superstar like Cristiano Ronaldo,” he told BT Sport.
“Don’t forget that he had another superstar in Raul, another ageing superstar, at Schalke, and he changed things to make sure he could accommodate a player of that calibre and class.”
