What is Kathryn Mayorga’s background?

The 36-year-old claims the £100 million Portuguese footballer assaulted her more than a decade ago in a Las Vegas hotel room.

Ronaldo has always disputed the allegations, labeling them “fake news,” and insisting that the intercourse was voluntary.

The alleged rape occurred in the early morning hours of June 13, 2009.

Ronaldo, then 24, was on vacation in Las Vegas with his brother-in-law and cousin at the time of the alleged incident.

Ms Mayorga, then 25, was working at the Palms Casino Resort’s Rain nightclub when she met the celebrity in the VIP section.

She informed Der Spiegel that the alleged rape left her with psychiatric depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

What exactly were the rape claims against Ronaldo?

“Cristiano Ronaldo took the plaintiff into a bedroom and onto a bed and sought to engage in sexual intercourse,” according to court documents viewed by The Sun.

The plaintiff allegedly refused, tried to cover herself, and screamed, “No, no, no!”

“When Cristiano Ronaldo finished the sexual assault, he allowed her to leave the room and apologized, he was usually a gentleman,” the report continues.

Ronaldo reportedly agreed to pay Ms Mayorga £287,000 to stop her from pressing criminal proceedings against him, which might have resulted in him serving a life sentence, and to keep her from going public.

Her attorneys are now attempting to get the settlement overturned, and she has come up for the first time.

Her attorney, Leslie Stovall, said during a news conference in Las Vegas that she had “thought suicide” and suffered emotional and mental harm as a result of the alleged rape.

He also stated that the model had a learning problem in high school, but that she had worked hard to overcome it and had attended university to get a degree.

According to court documents, she signed only because she was “terrified of retaliation” from Ronaldo and “public humiliation.”

After witnessing sex assault victims recount their tales as part of the #MeToo movement, she told Der Spiegel she was now coming forward.

Ronaldo has consistently refuted the allegations.

What happened at the hotel in Las Vegas?

He invited her and a friend to his penthouse suite — room 57306 at the Palms — “to enjoy the view of the Las Vegas Strip,” according to paparazzi photos.

On the balcony of the luxury suite was a hot tub.

Ms Mayorga alleges she declined to use the hot tub because she didn’t want her garment to be ruined.

Ronaldo allegedly provided her some clothing to wear and instructed her to change in a bathroom, according to her.

According to the court documents, Ronaldo stepped in, exposed himself, and urged her to perform a sex act while she was changing.

Ms Mayorga told the German magazine Der Spiegel that she refused to participate in the sex act but kissed him after he promised to let her go.

“He starts to come on to me really strong,” she recalled.

“And then he starts doing things to me, touching and grabbing me. I pulled him away and continued to say, ‘No.’”

She claimed that Ronaldo dragged her into a bedroom and raped her while she screamed, “No, no, no.”

Later that day, Ms Mayorga went to the Las Vegas Police Department and was examined in the hospital.

The alleged rape was documented and photographed as evidence.

And, only hours before the alleged attack, film obtained exclusively shows Ronaldo and Mayorga dancing intimately in a Sin City nightclub.

What’s the most recent news?

The case was withdrawn in June 2019 by the Las Vegas police department, which stated that “no charges would be filed.”

“A request for prosecution was presented to the District Attorney’s Office on July 8, 2019,” a representative for the Clark County District Attorney’s Office stated.

“Based on the facts available at this time, the sexual assault claims leveled against Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be substantiated beyond a reasonable doubt.”

“As a result, no charges will be filed.”

Ms Mayorga’s failure to identify him at the outset, according to the District Attorney’s Office, prevented authorities from conducting “any significant inquiry.”

However, it was announced in October 2019 that the Juventus forward’s DNA had been linked to evidence in the case.

“DNA is back and is a match,” Vegas detective Jeffrey Guyer wrote among 100 pages of emails between police and prosecutors on the criminal case, which was later dismissed.

Ronaldo also informed his lawyers. According to hacked emails, Ms Mayorga said “no” and “stop.”

Ms Mayorga, 34, is now pursuing a civil case against Ronaldo, 34, claiming £160,000 in damages.

Detectives questioned her for two hours, and it was believed at the time that she refused to give the identity of the suspected rapist.

Ms Mayorga, on the other hand, mentions Ronaldo in correspondence obtained exclusively.

According to the whistleblowing website Football Leaks, Ronaldo said Ms Mayorga said “no,” but three weeks later remarked, “She did not scream.” She didn’t scream or anything like that.”

Ronaldo has always maintained that he is innocent of any wrongdoing.

In April 2021, however, court filings revealed that she is suing for £56 million in damages.

She is seeking £18 million in damages for “past pain and suffering,” £18 million in damages for “future pain and suffering,” and £18 million in punitive damages.

The 37-year-outgoings old’s total £1.4 million.

This includes £1.1 million in legal fees.

What exactly did Ronaldo say?

Christiano Ronaldo has categorically denied the rape allegations, claiming that the crime is “contrary to everything I believe in.”

“I categorically refute the allegations leveled against me,” Ronaldo declared in a Twitter statement.

“Raping is a heinous crime that contradicts everything I am and believe in.

“I refuse to feed the media spectacle generated by people wanting to promote themselves at my expense, as eager as I am to clean my name.”

The report was likewise refuted by the former Juventus player as “false news.”

In an October 2018 statement, his lawyer, Peter Christiansen, stated that his client’s view was that “what happened in Las Vegas in 2009 was fully consensual.”
