Ankara, Turkey | BAZZUP | Vladimir Putin may visit Turkey on April 27 to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Akkuyu nuclear power facility, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Putin may either visit Mersin in person or participate in the ceremony via teleconference, according to Erdogan, who stated this in an interview with news outlet ATV-A Haber.
The facility is Turkey’s first nuclear power plant and is situated in the province of Mersin in the southeast. It is anticipated to generate 35 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity each year, which will supply 10% of home electricity requirements.
The build-own-operate approach was used to undertake the first nuclear power plant project ever. The design, construction, maintenance, operation, and decommissioning of the power plant will be handled by the Russian company Rosatom under the terms of a contract.
