Africa possesses tremendous potential. With a total value of $68 billion, Swiss Re Institute data puts the continent as the second-fastest expanding insurance market in the world, after Latin America.

Despite this, Africa has a huge uninsured population, as seen by the current insurance penetration rate of 2.8%. In addition to the fact that the world’s population is projected to quadruple to 2 billion by 2050, this indicates that the underwriting business has tremendous space to grow.
