President Biden sends Museveni a personal note.
H.E. Natalie Brown, the US Ambassador to Uganda, delivered the message to President Museveni at State House Entebbe yesterday.
President Yoweri Museveni has received a special greeting from US Vice President Joe Biden congratulating him on Uganda’s 59th Independence Anniversary, which will be held on Saturday, October 9th, 2021.
The theme for Uganda’s 59th Independence Day is “Celebrating our 59th Independence Day as we Secure Our Future Through National Mindset Change.” The scientific celebration will take place on the ceremonial grounds of Kololo.

The President and the US Ambassador, who was joined by Mr. Christopher Krafft, Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Kampala, addressed bilateral and regional concerns.
President Museveni thanked the Ambassador for his speech and praised the US government for sending COVID-19 vaccines to Uganda.
On September 20, the US provided 1,674,270 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to Uganda. The United States has provided a total of 2,321,350 COVID-19 vaccine doses to Uganda, including 647,080 Moderna doses delivered on September 6. This batch of 1,674,270 vaccines is part of a total of 500 million Pfizer doses provided to 92 countries throughout the world, including Uganda, in order to meet President Joe Biden’s promise to distribute safe and effective vaccines around the world and boost the global pandemic fight.
The meeting was attended by Hon. Henry Okello Oreym, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Waiswa Bagiire Vincent, Permanent Secretary.
