Moses Walyomu of Kagoma is confirmed as a validly elected MP by the court.

Justice Joseph Murangira, the trial judge, concluded that the evidence presented by the petitioner against MP Moses Walyomu was insufficient to persuade the court.

The election case challenging Moses Walyomu Muwanika’s election as Member of Parliament for Kagoma county was dismissed with costs by the High Court in Jinja.

Fredrick Munyirwa had dragged Walyomu to court on a number of grounds, including being fraudulently nominated. Munyirwa further stated that Walyomu lacked the required A level or equivalent academic qualifications, and accused him of paying voters and altering his name, among other things.

Justice Joseph Murangira, the trial judge, concluded that the evidence presented by the petitioner against MP Moses Walyomu was insufficient to persuade the court.

The case was dismissed with costs.

Munyirwa has promised to take the case to the Court of Appeal, through his lawyers Isaac Wanume and Ritah Athiang.
