Police identify victims and look into Entebbe Expressway collision
The Kampala-Entebbe Expressway was the scene of a collision on Sunday, according to the Uganda Police.
According to PRO Traffic and Road Safety ASP Faridah Nampiima, the small accident reported by the traffic police in Kajjansi occurred on Saturday at 9am at Sekiwunga on the Expressway.
The collision involved two vehicles: a Toyota Succeed with the license plate UBK 496J driven by Byesigye Easu, a resident of Garunga Katabi Town Council in Wakiso District, and a Land Rover Discovery with the license plate UBH 366X driven by Mukasa Brian, a resident of Mpaala in Wakiso District.
The scene of the accident
Both motor vehicles are said to have been traveling from Entebbe toward the Kajjansi-Busega Expressway when the driver of MV UBH 366X began to overtake and, in the process, side-brushed MV UBK 496J, causing both to lose control and flip.
She blamed the driver of the vehicle with the registration number UBH 33X for driving carelessly.
However, she added, “efforts are being made to evaluate the CCTV material to help with additional inquiries.”
