Raheem Sterling’s admission to Pep Guardiola suggests a role for Chelsea if a £45 million trade is successful.
Raheem Sterling is close to completing a move to Chelsea, where the England international might fit nicely.
During the summer transfer season, online entertainment can be a great place to be, but it can also be a place full of pessimism and hostility. Interesting enough, when Raheem Sterling was announced as a goal for Chelsea last month, Twitter, in especially, was uncharacteristically dejected.
There is a feeling that Chelsea not marking a Manchester City “reject” is not what the Blues require to catch up to the Premier League winners. Nevertheless, “Reject” is a far cry from reality.
This player joined City in 2015 after signing a contract worth £50 million from Liverpool. Since then, he has made 339 appearances across all leagues and scored 131 goals. In terms of the 23 starts he had last season, it hasn’t been fantastic for Sterling, but there is fierce competition for slots at the Etihad Stadium, especially in the attacking areas.
At the age of 27, Sterling must make sure he has the best chance to regularly play in the first team. Chelsea seems to be the best fit for the England international, therefore that’s what you should do. He’ll be competing on all fronts while playing Champions League football and has the appeal of working on the side to discover his old teams, Man city and Liverpool.
Yet, where will Sterling fit in at Chelsea?
Real is an incredibly adaptable player. He can play on either flank and, depending on which wing he plays on, presents different hazards. When he plays conservatively, he will get down to the byline and attempt to chip the ball into the goal. On the left side, however, you get the chance for him to cut in on his leaning right foot.

The absence of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea leaves the Blues lacking in a primary striker. Despite the fact that Richarlison was crucial to Chelsea, the Brazilian ultimately completed paperwork for Tottenham.
