Parliament approves new Vice President, PM today

President Museveni on Tuesday evening delivered the new bureau list in which he delegated Jessica Alupo as Vice President and Robinah Nabbanja as the new Prime Minister.
In a correspondence to all MPs, the assistant to parliament says that they are completely welcomed to go to the third sitting planned for now, Thursday June, 3, 2021 beginning at 10am at Kololo formal grounds.
At Kololo MPs will consider establishing the Appointments Committee as per rules 161 and 168 of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament.
“Parliament will likewise consider a movement looking for parliamentary endorsement of the arrangement of the Vice President as per article 108(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda,” the representative to parliament said in a correspondence to MPs.
Parliament will likewise consider a movement to support the arrangement of the Prime Minister who is additionally the head of government business as per article 108A(1) of the Constitution .
