Oulanyah: “The death of Gen Lokech is a huge loss to the nation
According to his family, he has been recovering from injuries received in the line of duty.
Maj Gen Paul Lokech, the slain deputy Inspector General of Police, was a leader prepared to put his heart and soul into any task to guarantee that it was done effectively, according to Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah.
The cause of death for Lokech, who was declared dead at his residence on Saturday morning, has yet to be determined. Unconfirmed accounts, on the other hand, claim that the general, also known as the Lion of Mogadishu, died of a blood clot.
According to his family, he has been recovering from injuries received in the line of duty.
Oulanyah commended the slain officer in a tweet for being industrious and determined to finish a mission, which he said is uncommon among the country’s leaders.
“He was trustworthy, devoted, and he approached all of his responsibilities with bravery, patriotism, and composure. He always stepped in to fill the void, rising to the occasion in the face of overwhelming odds. He remarked, “Such a great loss to the nation.”
According to authorities, the death of the man whose name is virtually inextricably linked to military operations aimed at quelling instability in Somalia is a major shock to the country.
Martin Okoth Ochola, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), stated yesterday that he had entrusted Dr Moses Byaruhanga, the Director of Medical Services, with conducting a postmortem to determine the cause of death.
