Onek Hilary your simply lazy. says Minster Nabbanja

In response to a letter from the Minister of Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Eng. Hillary Onek, accusing the prime minister of usurping his duties, Nabbanja made the remarks.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has vowed not to sit by and watch while “lazy” ministers fail to carry out their responsibilities.

In response to a letter from the Minister of Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Eng. Hillary Onek, accusing the prime minister of usurping his duties, Nabbanja made the remarks.

Onek cited a number of reasons and vowed to retire, stating that Nabbanja had taken over all of his responsibilities.

He expressed his unhappiness at having to watch the prime minister take over all of the tasks he should be performing.

“I have been observing with utter dismay since your appointment the fact that my position and that of my deputy as Ministers in charge of refugees and disasters and the key policymakers on questions of refugee and disaster management have been totally stolen by your office,” Onek wrote.

In an interview with media, Nabbanja stated that she had not yet received the letter from the Minister.

“I haven’t received the letter yet.”

That would be different if the minister chose to speak to me via social media.

It’s a matter of discipline, but I haven’t received the letter yet.

Perhaps he was still thinking about it.

People have told me that the letter’s signature is his. “My and his workplaces are next to one other,” Nabbanja explained.

She did say, however, that they have had a number of meetings that Minister Onek has missed without providing a solid explanation.

“We hold a number of meetings from time to time, and he [Onek] does not attend any of them, including today.” We cannot allow Ugandans to die of suffocation. “I promised you at the start of my tenure that we would not tolerate laziness,” she remarked.

The Prime Minister allegedly misappropriated Shs 5 billion from the Shs 15 billion allocated to the Ministry of Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees earlier this year, causing a rift between the two.

The problem became so serious that it was brought before Parliament for investigation.
