The second installment of the Tusker Malt Conversessions, an online musical series that premiered on Sunday evening, can only be described as a breathtaking serenade from songbird Naava Grey.
The Afro-Soul goddess keeps the audience locked and engaged during her tell-all conversation about her trials and tribulations in the music industry, providing 38 minutes of uninterrupted premium content.
During one of the music interludes, Naava Grey shared, “It’s passion that keeps driving me to do my music till today, otherwise I would have given up, because who writes a song and it still hits the same way 10 years later?”
Grey claims that she has had to harden her shell in response to all of the negative comments directed at her, which has made her stronger, more independent, and more capable of standing her ground.
“I’m not the same person I used to be; I can stand my ground, speak my mind, be self-sufficient, and know what I want; these trials are here to shape and mold us into better human beings,” she added.
Naava Grey performed some of her biggest hits like “Ninga Omuloge,” “Soka Lami,” “Aliba Omu,” “Nja Kwagala,” and “Nteredde” while talking about her experiences working with Sony, songwriting, and growing up in a Muslim household in the series produced by Swangz Avenue.
“Naava Grey is one of the most gifted musicians on the planet. Her narrative is inspiring, and her music perfectly embodies the Afro-Soul genre. “We’re glad she was able to share her story on the Tusker Malt Conversessions,” said Elizabeth Mutamuliza, UBL’s Premium Beers Brand Manager.
