Against Uganda, Cameroon executed a Remontada with their backs to the wall. Thus, the Indomitable Lionesses will continue in their quest to earn a spot in the women’s soccer competition at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
After being disqualified from the 2023 AFCON, Cameroon found itself in a precarious position in the 2024 Olympic women’s soccer competition. In Uganda, the Indomitable Lionesses were defeated 2-0 in the first leg of the second round. With everything on the line, the Cameroonians needed to win by a minimum of two goals in order to stay in the tournament. And they succeeded (3-0).
Leading the way, Ajara N’Chout Njoya scored the first goal in the 27th minute. Shortly after the interval, Stade Reims’ youthful midfielder Monique Ngock (19) leveled the scores (2-0, 47th). However, Cameroon was unable to score the infamous third goal that would have spared them extra time over the whole ninety minutes. Brigitte Omboudou therefore gave the nation what it needed in extra time, scoring the 3-0, which was good for qualifying to the third and penultimate round of the qualifications in the 115th minute.
Cameroon will play Nigeria.
In this third and preliminary round, Nigeria will play Cameroon. Ethiopia was defeated by Nigeria. Following an unexpected 1-1 draw in Addis Ababa the previous week, they won the second leg 4-0 on Tuesday, October 31. Kanu did not, however, open the score until stoppage time in the first half. In the second half, the Super Falcons then fully capitalized. The first leg’s scorer, Ajibalde, scored twice (in the 50th and 72nd minutes). Assisat Oshooala, a star striker, joined in as well, scoring his third goal (68th).
Tanzania joins forces with SA
Tanzania is still moving forward to compete in the Olympic women’s soccer competition in 2024. Botswana was destroyed by the Tanzanians. Following a 2-0 victory away from home, they performed the bare minimum at home. The game’s lone goal came from Aisa Makassa (26th).But the following obstacle is quite difficult. The current African champions are South Africa. The DR Congo was defeated by South Africa (1-1 in the first leg, 2-0 in the return).
In the second leg of the second qualifying round for the 2024 Olympic Games, Ghana—who had defeated Benin 3-0 in the previous leg in Cotonou—confirmed their superiority in front of their home supporters. Benin was overpowered by Ghana 2-0.Before the Beninese scored in their own half in the 75th minute, Nugget Evelyne Badu opened the score in the 65th.Ghana will now play Zambia in the third and last round after progressing through.Mali, Zambia’s opponents, withdrew, hence the country did not participate in the second round.
Derby in North Africa

After Reynald Pedros left and Jorge Vilda took over as coach, the Moroccans defeated Namibia, who had lost 2-0 in the first two matches.
