Olympiakos Ends West Ham United’s Unbeaten Run While Rangers Held

West Ham's 17-match unbeaten European run came to an end on Thursday with a 2-1 loss away to Olympiakos.

Thursday’s 2-1 loss to Olympiakos away ended West Ham’s 17-game unbeaten streak in Europe, while Rangers battled to a goalless draw in the Europa League against Sparta Prague to earn a point. The Greek team took the lead through a long-range strike from Kostas Fortounis, and Rodinei added a second goal with a deflected shot just before halftime. The Hammers, who lead Group A with six points from three games, were given a late consolation goal by Lucas Paqueta. Freiburg defeated Serbia’s Backa Topola 3-1 to draw even.

Rangers played a scoreless draw in the Czech Republic, thanks to a strong performance from goalie Jack Butland. They are in third place in Group C, headed by Real Betis, who defeated Aris Limassol 1-0 on the road.
