NUP accuses FDC of intellectual dishonesty, blackmail in speakership race
The resistance National Unity Platform (NUP) Deputy President for Buganda Region, Member of Parliament for Nyendo-Mukungwe area, and Leader of Opposition in Parliament Mathias Mpuuga has blamed the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) gathering of unscrupulousness.
Mpuuga while addressing media on Monday said that the FDC are utilizing NUP as an easy prey after bombed offers for places of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of parliament separately.
As indicated by Mpuuga, the NUP didn’t have a competitor they tossed their weight behind, as FDC’s Ssemujju Nganda and Yusuf Nsibambi charge.
“I have never been important for any stage that arranged our individuals to decide in favor of a specific possibility for Speaker. We had a liberal conversation about the conceivable outcomes, it didn’t specially make sense for us our individuals to cast a ballot anybody,” Mpuga expressed.
During the speakership decisions a week ago, FDC applicant Ssemujju surveyed just 15 votes in spite of having 119 individuals from the resistance in parliament.
His partner Yusuf Nsibambi surveyed just 35 decisions in favor of the Deputy Speaker position.
Following their disappointment, Ssemujju and Nsibambi blamed NUP MPs for scheming with the decision NRM administrators to cause their hopelessness.
Notwithstanding, Mpuuga says that the FDC are being deceptive.
“FDC realizes what occurred and they are attempting to go for the vulnerable objective which is NUP on the grounds that I am certain they didn’t get “their own votes”. They are exchanging scholarly untrustworthiness,” Mppuga said.
I wish Hon Ssemujju was here with the goal that I can pose him a few inquiries and he asks me a few. I need to reveal to Hon Ssemujju and FDC that later on, they would prefer not to accomplish something they aren’t persuaded about as opposed to doing it as a type of coerce,” he added.
