Uganda-EU Business Forum’s Third Edition Will Be Graced by Museveni

On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, H.E. Jan Sadek, the EU’s ambassador to Uganda, paid Dr. Kenneth Omona, the president of the Republic of Uganda’s principal private secretary, a courtesy call.

The main topics of discussion during the meeting were H.E. the President’s participation in the third edition of the Uganda-EU Business Forum.
Along with his deputy, Mr. Guillaume Chartrain, and head of cooperation, Ms. Caroline Adriaensen, Ambassador Sadek gave an overview of the Business Forum’s objectives and the steps being taken to ensure H.E. the President’s attendance.

On February 27, 2024, the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) of Ugandan President Dr. Kenneth Omona Olusegun was met by EU Ambassador to Uganda Jan Sadek. The remarks were made at the PPS officers in Kampala.

The EU Delegation to Uganda and the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), in collaboration with the Uganda Investment Authority, the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are co-organizers of the Forum, which is scheduled to take place at Speke Resort in Munyonyo on March 5 and 7, 2024.

The Forum brings together public and private sector operators from Uganda and Europe to encourage trade and investments in transformative sectors that propel Uganda’s economic growth. The Forum’s topic is “Boosting Trade and Investment: What can Uganda gain from the Global Gateway?”

On February 27, 2024, the EU delegation met with the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) of Uganda’s President, Dr. Kenneth Omona Olusegun (right), and the EU Ambassador to Uganda, Jan Sadek (left), during the PPS officers’ meeting in Kampala.

Since the EU is regarded by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as Uganda’s principal trading and investment partner, Dr. Omona gave his guests the assurance that the President would be present at the third edition of the Uganda-EU Business Forum.

He claimed that in addition to encouraging foreign investment, President Museveni was passionate about Ugandan exports.

On February 27, 2024, Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to Ugandan President Dr. Kenneth Omona Olusegun made a statement at a meeting with EU Ambassador to Uganda, Jan Sadek, at PPS officers in Kampala.

He was hopeful that Uganda would be highlighted in the event, along with business potential with the European Union.

In order to strengthen bilateral ties between Uganda and the European Delegation, Dr. Omona committed to organizing frequent consultative sessions.

The Special Presidential Assistant for Economic Affairs, Dr. Christine Charity Mwebesa, and the Head of the State House’s Foreign and Diplomatic Affairs Unit, Mr. Fred Moses Mukhooli, were there.
