Museveni mourns ‘African freedom fighter’ Kaunda
President Museveni has hailed former Zambian leader, Kenneth Kaunda for his contribution in fighting for Africa’s independence.
President Museveni has hailed previous Zambian pioneer, Kenneth Kaunda for his commitment in battling for Africa’s freedom.
Kaunda,97 , who was Zambia’s establishing president and freedom saint kicked the bucket on Thursday at a tactical emergency clinic in the country’s capital Lusaka where he was being treated for pneumonia.
Talking about the passing, Museveni thought back the commitment days of the battle for opportunity and freedom of the Southern Africa nations that Kaunda partook in.
“Mzee KK, as he was affectionately called, made large commitment in his life. He battled for Zambia’s autonomy and he made a major commitment to the opportunity battle of the freedom of the subcontinent of Southern Africa,” Museveni said in his sympathy message.
“Here, I am alluding to the freedom of: Mozambique, Angola, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Namibia. In the last part of the 60’s, for example, I recollect that he empowered FRELIMO to open the third front in Tete Pronvince of Mozambique.”
Museveni said Kaunda’s name will consistently be recollected in Africa for his extraordinary commitment.
