Mugenyi of the NUP wins the Mbarara University guild election.

Jastus Mugenyi of the National Unity Platform (NUP) was named the winner of the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) guild presidency election.

Jastus Mugenyi of the National Unity Platform (NUP) was named the winner of the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) guild presidency election.

“Congratulations to H.E Jastus Mugenyi Kizito, the Guild president elect. Your diligent assistance will be greatly appreciated by the University. We must succeed.” The university made the announcement.

With a total of 1,767 votes, Mugenyi easily defeated all four of his competitors to win.

Muyanja Isaac, Mugenyi’s closest challenger, received 731 votes, followed by Beda Witness (268 votes), and Mugambe Victor, who received 238 votes.

Earlier, Robert Kyagulanyi, the NUP president, used his social media outlets to congratulate Mugenyi on his overwhelming victory.

“Congratulations on your decisive victory as Guild President, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, comrade Jastus Mugenyi Kizito” (MUST). Despite the intimidation, the students have made their voices heard loud and clear. The people’s revolution is still growing!” Kyagulanyi made a comment.
