MPs reiterate need for sports funding
Individuals from Parliament are worried about government’s inability to focus on the games area calling for seriously financing and development of offices the nation over.
Ntungamo Municipality MP, Yona Musinguzi said the Ministry of Education and Sports gave a delicate to recreate the Nakivubo Stadium four years prior, to a city finance manager whom he says has neglected to finish the undertaking.
“The delicate was given to Hamis Kiggundu who has constructed arcades and shopping centers all around the arena, with little work done on the actual arena. In the event that he has fizzled over this load of years, for what reason shouldn’t the delicate be dropped and given to another person?” Musinguzi inquired.
He added that the cycle was ridiculed with no cutthroat offering.
“A conversation and understanding among Kiggundu and authorities from the Ministry of Education and Sports was endorsed to patch up the arena,” he added. The MP raised the worry as officials saluted Uganda’s Peruth Chemutai who had quite recently won gold in the ladies’ 3000m steeplechase at the Tokyo Olympics. This was during an entire meeting led by Deputy Speaker Anita Among.
William Chemongis (NRM, Kween County) said that Parliament gives time to conversations on a portion of the difficulties looked by competitors.
“These people who address the country in these rivalries face a great deal in their arrangements for provincial or worldwide contests,” Chemongis said.
Among coordinated the Ministry of Education and Sports to introduce a full report on the advancement of the Nakivubo Stadium that has been under development throughout the previous five years.
