Arsenal may have spent the most money in the summer transfer market, but their extravagance has resulted in them having the sixth most valuable squad in the Premier League this season.

This transfer window, Mikel Arteta’s side spent £121million on players such as Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, and Martin Odegaard, among others.

The Gunners’ squad valuation, according to reliable aggregator Transfermarkt, is just slightly more than that of Everton, who spent virtually nothing in the transfer window.

Manchester City, who have smashed the British transfer record with a group of talents worth in excess of £1billion, are the team to beat in the coming months.

The signing of Jack Grealish was somewhat offset by the sales of Lukas Nmecha, Jack Harrison, and Ivan Ilic, while Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia were given away for free as a result of the signing.

Despite having SIX fewer players than second-placed Manchester United, the defending champions are worth about £100 million more than their nearest rivals.

The total value of the Red Devils’ 28-man team is £843.5 million, which includes the inclusion of Cristiano Ronaldo and his £40 million ‘value’, which is double the amount the club paid for the goalscoring phenomenon.

Chelsea and Liverpool are hardly distinguishable at little over £790 million in third and fourth place, respectively, before a £150 million or more drop to Tottenham in fifth place.
