More than 1,200 graduate at IUIU ‘scientific’ ceremony
The graduation service was named as the second Virtual (Online) Graduation because of existing Covid pandemic limitations.
The 29th graduation service of Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) was held Saturday, with upwards of 1,226 understudies graduating in various scholastic orders.
The graduation was led in a ‘logical’ route for a second progressive year due to Covid pandemic limitations and was named by the college as the second Virtual (Online) Graduation, streamed live on different online stages.
Just a select number of graduands went to the capacity face to face at the college’s females’ grounds in Kabojja.
The 29th graduation function was the first under the authority of Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, the college’s new Rector. Gyagenda succeeded Dr. Ahmad Kawesa Sengendo, who is presently the Assistant Secretary-General (Economic Affairs) in Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The prominent visitors at the downsized work incorporated the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Moses Ali, who is likewise the bad habit administrator of the IUIU University Council.
His Royal Highness Dr. Chindo Yamusa III, the Emir of Keffi in Nasarawa State of Nigeria, was additionally present.

Out of the 1,226 graduands, 704 were from the college’s university’s main campus in Mbale, 467 from the Kampala grounds, 46 from the females’ grounds at Kabojja and nine from the Arua grounds. Among them were the university’s pioneer Qur’an Memorizers.
Upwards of 123 understudies graduated with endorsements, 169 with Undergraduate confirmations, 783 with Bachelor certificates, 25 with Postgraduate recognitions and 126 with Master’s degrees.
During the service, Rector Gyagenda introduced grants to the best-performing graduands – regarded on the based of their academic exhibition and character.
The best student overall was Jeylan Hashim Abdallah (Bachelor of Sharia), who scored a CGPA of 9.92 and was granted the Prince Badru Kakungulu Award.
The IUIU Alumni Award, saved for the second-best understudy, was introduced to Maganda Nurain Muzamiru, who graduated with a First Class degree with a CGPA 4.61 in BA Sharia.
The International Islamic Charitable Organization Award went to Ariye Rukiya, who got a First Class degree in Bachelor of Business Studies with a CGPA 4.6. The honor is introduced to the best female student of the University.
The best imaginative and innovative students were Masau Abdullatif and Salimo Rajab, who built up an e-Farm market application. The couple were given the Rector’s Award.
Minister Gyagenda’s splitting shot to the new graduates was to accept advancement to keep up in an exceptionally rivalry world outside of school.
