Micho thinks he was framed after being found guilty of sexual assault.

Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, the Uganda Cranes coach, has claimed that the claims against him were made up to destroy his reputation.

Micho was found guilty of two charges of sexual assault while remaining in charge of the Zambian national team by the Gqeberha (previously Port Elizabeth) Regional Court.

As a result, the court sentenced him to two three-year prison sentences, each of which was suspended for five years.

The Serbian citizen condemned the charges as attempts to smear his good name in a statement following his conviction.

“These reports are based on a well-coordinated scheme by some wicked and nasty, anonymous people hell-bent on destroying my name and using whatever means at their disposal to set me up and humiliate my image,” Micho said in a statement.

Micho inappropriately touched a 39-year-old lady who was delivering coffee, according to the South African court, at the regional COSAFA U-20 cup in December 2020.

Despite his denials, the Serbian tactician was found guilty by the court.

“A 39-year-old woman was bringing coffee at the Wolfson Stadium on December 7, 2020, during the Cosafa Games in Gqeberha, when she asked Sredojevi whether he needed sugar with his cup. He declined, stating that he required a different form of sugar while pointing to her private parts. “She complained to her boss about his behavior, and he cautioned Sredojevi not to do it again,” the court stated.

Micho, on the other hand, claimed in his newest statement that despite knowing the claims were made up to smear his name, he decided to go through the South African judicial system, but reiterated that everything was staged to accuse and convict him.

“I am a law-abiding citizen who has always fully cooperated with authorities, even when I was aware that I was merely a target,” he stated.

Appeals

According to the Serbian strategist, he has now challenged his conviction and sentence.

“My choice to appeal is in complete agreement with the magistrate,” he stated, “since my pursuit of justice cannot allow the continuing of injustice against me to go uncontested.”
