Mary Nuba Voted Best Shooter of 2022 as She Cranes Shine at Fast5 Netball World Series
She Cranes, Uganda’s senior netball team, came in fifth place at the New Zealand-hosted Fast5 Netball World Series.
The female team shocked the audience by humiliating the top-ranked team in the world, Australia, 32-30.
“World’s top-ranked Australia is falling! On the team’s official Twitter account, a message proclaimed, “We are in New Zealand to conquer.
Faridah Kadondi was chosen as the Player of the Match for her outstanding performance against Australia.
She Cranes’ 49-32 loss to New Zealand in their opening round put the competition on a sour note.
The team promptly bounced back, though, and defeated Jamaica 33–22.
“Our very own Baagala Margret was selected as the game’s top player in the 33-22 victory over Jamaica.”
The She Cranes subsequently narrowly lost 27-22 to South Africa before playing Jamaica in the fifth-place match.
“In our first attempt at #FAST5, after defeating Jamaica 32-10 in a classification match, we came in fifth place. Lord, I am grateful.
In the 32-10 win over Jamaica, Irene Eyaru was chosen as the game’s MVP.
Cholhok Mary Nuba was selected as the 2022 Fast5 World Series’ top shooter and the competition’s fan favorite.
