Chelsea can begin the Todd Boehly era with a free transfer in order to embarrass PSG once more.

The Blues have a chance to upend PSG's transfer plans with a deal that could be game-changing for Thomas Tuchel's attack.

The Blues have a chance to upend PSG’s transfer plans with a deal that could be game-changing for Thomas Tuchel’s attack.

Because of the Chelsea offer that went through under the consortium led by Todd Boehly, Ousmane Dembele is perceived to have deferred a decision on his future to a limited extent.

The Barcelona winger, who is out of contract at the Camp Nou on June 30, is attracting interest from PSG and Bayern Munich, and was expected to distance himself from La Liga this summer after a disappointing few years at the club.

Thomas Tuchel’s case was settled. Chelsea had no contact with Dembele in January, when the winger was linked with a mid-season move to Stamford Bridge, but it now appears more likely as the Blues hope to revamp under new ownership.

Tuchel chose the French attacker as possibly the most capable player he has ever instructed. “When Ousmane Dembele came in at Dortmund, he was probably the first name that came to mind.” As if it were a natural talent and incredibly, extraordinary.

“In any case, Dembele was one of the most insane normal gifts since he wasn’t shooting kicks with his left, shooting corners with his left.” Going to different corners and doing the right inswing. Going to punishments, shooting with the left hand, shooting with the right hand, spilling, running, and passing.”

Tuchel expressed his displeasure with Chelsea’s attack in the final seven days of the Premier League campaign, referring to the qualities of players the club will pay special attention to in the transfer window this summer, while also explaining how his strategy could have gone awry.

“There are numerous options. The numbers we get from our adversaries do not allow us to outperform, and we want our outperformance to be closer to the top two groups. I’m not pointing fingers or accusing anyone; rather, we want everyone to outperform. It’s not over exhibition if we only have single figures in scoring and assisting.”

Dembele rejoining Tuchel this summer could end up being one of Chelsea’s risky transfers this summer, given how much work should have been completed. Dembele scored 10 goals and had an eye-catching 21 assists in the 2016/17 season, when Barcelona thought he was a developing talent worth paying £126 million for.

His physical issue record is legitimate, as he has missed more than 100 games for Barcelona since his record-breaking transfer in August 2017. However, since regaining health in January, the 25-year-old has quickly demonstrated flashes of his ability from his lean toward the traditional spot.

Twelve goal commitments and being ranked first in Europe’s top five leagues for “Anticipated Assists Per 90” and “Open-Play Expected Assists Per 90” for 2021/22 highlight a player with high confidence.

Similarly to how Chelsea signed Thiago Silva from PSG in 2020 and then named Tuchel after his dismissal from the French club in 2021, the two moves aided Chelsea while seemingly crippling the Paris club, and signing Dembele could add a third shame while the Blues benefit under Boehly.
